The People...

The key people involved with the Upper Thames Project (UTP) are listed below.

Dr Philip Riordan (WildCRU)
Philip currently coordinates the Upper Thames Project and manages the associated research programme. In addition to landscape-scale ecological processes, my research interests also include wildlife diseases and animal community dynamics.

  Richard Sheane (FWAG)
Rich is a senior advisor with FWAG and has many years of experience with conservation and ecology in agricultural landscapes. He is also an expert in agri-environment schemes and provides frontline advise to farmers and landowners.
  Arnaud Duranel (BBOWT)
Arnaud is a conservation advisor with BBOWT and works closely with landowners and farmers to implement habitat management options within the project.
david macdonald Prof David Macdonald (WildCRU)
Prof Macdonald is Director of the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit at Oxford University. He conceived and implemented the appeal which led to the foundation in 1986 of the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, and the associated Senior Research Fellowship at Lady Margaret Hall; this was the first Fellowship in any British university dedicated to biological conservation, and the WildCRU became the first such research unit. Its aim was, and remains, to undertake original research on aspects of fundamental biology relevant to solving practical problems of wildlife conservation and environmental management, and thus to underpin policy formation and public debate of the many issues that surround the conservation of wildlife and its habitats.
